i've got a short break in b/w classes. just had my british writers class - decent class, focused on discussion with a sizeable amount of reading - first one of the day (930-1045). international politics follows from 1230-145 and then cultural politics of global news media from 200-445. then meetings and more meetings. yeah wednesdays are busy.
in light of me taking extra credits this semester and having a lot on my plate, i realized just how hard it will be to work. apparently my parents realized this too and suggested i quit my job at the law firm and accept some type of "allowance" from them just for this semester. my immediate reaction was NO. i havent accepted money (like this) from them since i was, i dont know, 15 or so? it just doesn't seem ethical or right for me to, especially at this age and especially since i've been working for quite some time now... but seeing as i'm already behind in most of my class work and it's the only second week of school - i might have to take them up on their offer. it just pisses me off, for lack of better words at this time, because i shouldn't have to do this - noting that my mom isn't allowed to work for awhile and hasn't worked all summer... so this is my current dilemma, among others.
...running off to read for class...

Take the offer, Jamie. I know you’re a little embarrassed to take it as it will pose an additional burden to your mom and I but, you should get out of this mind-set.
We want you to maintain your scholarship and finish your undergrad in May, you ace your internship with WABC, and plan for your future in law or whatever endeavor.
Also, we expect you to give 100% on your leadership in Greek activities.
Earning some money does help but should not be the excuse for replacing any of the above.
The less stress on you, the better (pardon the mangling of the grammar).
